  1. Well, if you're plant-life, you don't HAVE to be a carrot....maybe a Venus Fly Trap? I know that's the plant I'd be..just because it's cool as hell, and eats things, and was in the Little Shop of Horrors. Don't like destructful things? Maybe a Squash would do you good...No one has beef with the Squash.
  2. I thought that Cos^2 + Sin^2 = 1 , maybe I'm a little too out of my league (I've only taken precalc somewhat in school)

As long as your depth perception is off, it's all fine it me.
  4. I would give my left arm to be a carrot, and possibly my right. I don't know what you're talking about.
  5. A project by a certain doctor, I forget who, involved programming a computer to reply to voice structures, and feelings. If you had an angry voice, it gave you an angry face , a happy voice, a happy face , a concieted voice....well.. . Though a computer could learn to interpret what feelings another individual had, I'm positive it would not be able to experience it itself. (I'm not a big startreck fan, so bear with me here) Take that robot man from Starteck for example; I remember him never being able to have any emotions, because his computer wouldn't allow him to. More spiritually, how can a computer be alive without a soul? Even if a brain was downloaded into one, where's the heart, the soul? The Love? Would "alive" computers breathe oxygen? and carbon dioxide? My only concern, is the fact that if computers are made to replicate humans, and are more effecient in almost anything it can do (than humans), including killing (without a conscience of course), will we be "over-run" by our own creations? Isn't this what Mary Shelly was addressing in her book Frankenstien? It may only be Hollywood, but James Cameron's vision of a robot run world (Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day), may not be too far from the truth. (If we do as blike questions, that is).
  6. Yeah, especially when you look at your Caller I.D.

Probably learn something...it's been proven that too much of me kills brain cells. Twice as rapidly as cocaine.

I'm God's gift to the Emu. And I swear to God if any of you touch my Emu, I will absolutely kill you! Including you...CLONE!
  9. They've designed go-cart like vehicles that use battery power, but only have a 40 mile-range. Until something phenominal is invented, fossil fuels will be around, I somewhat agree with the ozone problem, but this would atleast delay our ozone depleation until further vehicles are invented.
  10. PopularScience has an article on a new prototype vehicle that could travel from N.Y. to D.C. using only 1 gallon of gasoline. This could help our homeland security, by allowing us to rely less on foreign imports, and also our smog problem in major cities.
  11. One more question, since you are in a field of gravity, would a astronaut still "float" in space? or would they be able to "walk" on the ship?
  12. Fafalone and I had a discussion about the uses of gravity, and how gravitational matrices have been discovered that link planets together could be used to save fuel when exploring space. How long do you all believe it will be until we've learned how to travel with gravity, thus making inter-galactic travel possible? Do you think this is even possible?
  13. Not all houses have ground rods, and even if your house is grounded, your house can be stuck by lightning. The odds/chances are very very minute that you actually will be struck by lightning.
  14. MSNBC has an article on how scientists have improved the brains of mice by altering their genetic structure.
  15. Einstien had scientific proof, experimental data, to back up his theory. You sir, do not.
  16. Here's some questions you should ask yourself, Adam: If we were created by a 223 gene "alien" species in order to gather gold for their protection, why hasn't this "alien" species returned? Is our soil not rich enough with gold? Do we not have a football team named after Gold Miners (i.e. The Forty-Niners)? You're comparing our present world to the fantasy one provided in the Sci-Fi movie Stargate....well, where's our Stargate? As Faf had, even if by any chance we were created by an "alien" species, on the top of the family tree remains a "god".
  17. I like calculators too, especially the ones with the games.
  18. 18, I think I'm the youngest here? And I'm a computer salesman...the kind you all hate...the sarcastic kind.
  19. In my belief, in order for it to be "alive", it would have to "breathe"...which a mechanical structure does not. Also, being somewhat religious, it would also have to contain a "soul". Though we could simulate human abilities, it still does not constitute as "life" by the definition provided.
  20. Spy with what though? The camera is very very nomadic, the technology must be improved before we start spying on Hitler J.r. .
  21. I read about the remote controlled rats, and it seems that though they can control movements of the mice, they cannot recieve brain images from them. An unstable camera is placed on the back of the mouse instead...kinda pointless, is it not?
  22. PhysicsWeb is carrying an article on the improvement of silicon usage.
  23. I disagree with this "luck" theory. Luck would be if Bill Gates was falling off a bridge, and was saved by a Windows OS box at the last minute....Luck would be if Bill Gates was eating a box of Chips Ahoy! cookies, and suddenly bit down, and a CD-Rom of Windows OS was in his cookie. The fact that Bill Gates and others developed one of the most graphical Computer Operating Systems of our time, (granted it's not the most stable...but they're getting there) does not constitute him as lucky. I'll also give you the benefit of his previous hard work not reflecting his work today, but would you want to do anything when you're worth over $100 Billion? Capitalist America is what it is, competive, Bill Gates was not lucky, just won the race to build a "stable" User Operating System.
  24. A friend of mine and I had a conversation the other day about the new Plasma Televisions, and why they were so much better than conventional ones. Needless to say, I had no clue why. What is used inside of "older" televisions to produce pictures, and why is the Plasma TV so much better?
