  1. I assume it was still April 1st in your time zone when you posted this. Happy Easter.

  2. survive and breed Not really, no. This is more about us evolving in a world that no longer exists. We no longer have starve through winter and walk hundreds of miles to find food. Our sedentary lifestyle and easy access to high fat high sugar diets is a better explanation (especially since evolution doesn't have intention... it just selects lifeforms capable of surviving and breeding successfully). Advancing tech makes being fat and lazy easier, but we still have a choice to go exercise and eat better. Many just choose not to. These are separate issues.

  3. When will WHAT happen? The title of this thread is "Will America EVER achieve immortality?" which really doesn't make sense because America is either a continent or a country, and immortality really applies to neither one. The context of your post implies you are asking if humanity will ever achieve immortality; it's really short-sighted to think only one country would work on or achieve this. Appeal to conspiracy doesn't advance your argument This is a science site and you insist on discussing science fiction, and seemingly have no interest in learning or discussing actual science. That might be a contributing factor.

  5. It is good it worked out well, but it was not a reliable action to take - not that I'm sure there can be any guarantees, whatever course is taken. Even constant supervision comes with downsides. But it could also have had a bad ending. The potential for an "ordinary" fist-fight to result in serious injury or death is always there - usually without any such intent. Fighting on or around concrete surfaces for example raises the risks greatly. Achieving some kind of just outcome also depends on whether the aggrieved party can win the fight - which is always far from certain. Legal repercussions as well as enduring hostility were also potential outcomes. I don't think so, not even when it was malice and intent that took out the eye rather than unintended consequence, such as a fist-fight gone wrong. Restitution - that will work better from someone with both eyes - might serve justice better. I don't think so. The greater good might be in the deterrence - which will be limited - or the public safety by removing someone who might be likely to re-offend - which can be achieved by imprisonment. But not the public enjoyment. Most people in attendance would have no direct involvement, knowledge or interest. The public satisfaction looks more like indulging a powerful human urge to violence by virtue of promoting the lack of virtue in the victim. It looks like populism dressed up as justice. It seems likely to me that normalising execution unnecessarily affirms and legitimises the taking of human lives - and I think our legal systems work best by putting distance and objectivity between that indiscriminate urge and attempts to deliver just outcomes that maintain community safety and social cohesion. Where capital punishment is practiced it is more likely to be perceived as necessary as well as normal but lots of nations do not practice it and they are not overrun with violent crime. It is not necessary. Public satisfaction at knowing a serious criminal is executed seems to me to be qualitatively different to the satisfaction at knowing the person will spend their lives under constant supervision, with most of life's opportunities denied to them.

  6. Every number (except 0) has two square roots. Using the convention (ignore negative root) leads to these kinds of problems. l

  7. Alternatively if you want to use brackets to write the square root as the power 1/2 then you must use [math]{\left( {{{\left( { - 2} \right)}^{10}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}} = {\left( {1024} \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}} = 32[/math] Again you must work from the inside out, working out the value of the innermost bracket before applying the out one.

  8. From what I remember testosterone levels of transgender women are the same as as other female ranges after sex reassignment procedures. One could extend the question also to individuals who are intersex, for example. I am not sure whether there are clear answers to the issue, though. It also does not help that data is sparse, as there are only few elite transgender athletes. Depending on the sport some studies found little difference in performance (non-elite long-distancing running, IIRC). But it is unclear (beside anecdotal evidence) how big the effect would be in the elite athletic scene.

  9. Not actually what you said, and why I asked for clarification. 2 for 1 is not tit-for-tat, and you'd already established that it's an eye for an eye. No escalation.

  10. The WHO's investigation into the origins of COVID is a farce at this point. They're merely repeating verbatim the information that the CCP is feeding them. Highly unlikely that the true cause / origin of this virus will ever be put on record.

  11. But that’s not the sole goal of the justice system. Protecting society, rehabilitation and impacts on the aggrieved (i.e. “closure”) are factors, too.

  12. The topic, when will it happen? I spent the vast majority of the time looking for an answer. And I have to say the only way for it to work is through swapping consciousness. OSKM was a promising gene therapy back in the time, but it has a chance of developing teratoma, since SALK did not continue the experiment it went for a pause in 2012. Since modifying the gene expression of all the cells in the body is no easy feat. You could replace the gene therapy by activating the Yamanaka Factors with the cell signaling molecules such as BMP4, nodal, activin, but it just seems really unsafe = =. So since swapping consciousness is the only available option. I am not sure why the state keep the seat of consciousness a secret = =, as well as the use of progesterone to create an empty vessel. And since the dream group number 2(sorry if this is out of topic = =), consist of majority of Americans if not a somewhat counselor resemblance AI, I see a promise that these are the people that can get it to work. Japan has probably done it since it also has a dream group. As well as some other dream groups that have been visiting me in my dreams. To them, reprogramming the memory is as simple as flipping a palm. The thing is, even the nature of the dream group is a secret to me. And as conservative as the state goes, keeping the information about the seat of consciousness and progesterone for human regeneration a secret. I am not sure how many people would get revived by the state. Sort of losing faith for that aspect = =. I kept saying the seat of consciousness is in the caudate nucleus, look how many answers I got? This clearly shows the majority of the civilians have been blind folded. Might as well count on Japan if you want to get revived. P.S. I brought this up because I want to encourage you guys to embrace immortality. Help me help you. But I got defamed twice = =, if not 24 times. I am not sure why this forum is so negative about me = =.

  13. Well, a few questions I am in concern of. 1. You guys do not know where the seat of consciousness is.(possibly in the caudate nucleus) 2. You guys do not know where to modify the consciousness frequency.(possibly in the midbrain region) 3. You guys do not know how to modify the memory.(optogenetics) 4. You guys do not know how to build an empty vessel.(progesterone) 5. You guys do not know how to keep an empty vessel.(animate the body with an AI). And you guys are counting on a molecular transformer to do the job.
