  1. Not really. If the 'leader' outlaws murder... then he is not to blame for the murder in the country. If he condones it by giving a list of ways in which murder is 'OK' and the people go around murdering each other in the ways that are 'OK' according to the leader, then the leader is responsible for those murders because he could have just said -'no murder' rather than encouraging it.

  2. Functional changes require integration on many levels in different places (cells, tissue, limbs, brain etc.). To do that deliberately from the bottom up is impossible with our current knowledge. Think fine tuning a PC with a sledgehammer and a chisel as the main tools.

  3. Hi. Would it be much better that flight recorders (black box) spit out their data contents instantly at any and every anomaly via radio to nearby receivers and kept there for evaluation instead of searching, recovering, battling time in a hurry ? I suppose emergency channel receivers are on all times at airports. It is century 21 !

  6. How does being created evil by a perfect god broaden my choices? I realize faith has little to no reason involved, but the whole free will argument pits our earthly years against eternity, and gives us nebulous, widely interpreted scripture from the Bronze Age to help us decide. And if I decide your religion condones slavery and intolerance and hypocritical behavior, and generally goes against my basic morality, for standing up against that your god wants to roast me forever. Boo! If your god created me, he made me smarter than that.

  8. That is one form of love. There are many. Look up the 5 words in Greek for love - they all mean different things. The love between man and woman you describe is called 'Eros'. The unconditional love for your fellow man, a fatherly like love is called 'Agape'. A brotherly sisterly family type love is called 'Philia'. If you think about it... a 'perfect' love between a man and a woman would be a combination of all of these. It's sad that you think this. Why? I'd admit it is rare and not all get it but it does happen. Sometimes it is temporary/transient but it does happen.

  11. I see. I can just imagine how many new members ISIS will recruit now that they've been given a sound thrashing by the international community. I guess they would have had less members if we'd been 'nice' to them and let them brutalize the whole region. Maybe if we'd been nice to A Hitler and let him have Poland, he wouldn't have tried to take all of Europe. And If we had let North Korea take the southern peninsula, Kim Jung Un would be a nice respectful head of state today. And why not. Let J Stalin have Eastern Europe. It's a small price to pay for good relations with the Russians. ( I know, a little 'over the top', but it illustrates my point ) No, some evil just has to be stamped out.

  12. How many times do you want to 'go around the block'? Bear in mind, I'm not far off sixty. You still have your life ahead of you and many experiences still to have, but there seems to come a point where you start to become too familiar with the way the world is .

  13. Your title and your description ask totally different questions. Both of equal childishness. 1) Title - No 2) Description - Of what happening? People gaining powers through the X-gene? Apologies Mods but I feel really offended when people misquote even comic book science. Of course this is science fiction. So no, superpowers do not exist. Most of all it's X-men not X-man. And just to clarify if you read my quote. Having an extra chromosome is not generally beneficial in human biology back here in the real world.

  14. When you measure the momentum, for example, you interact with its energy so you change the phenomenon. Yes but you can't know position/momentum without measuring them. Ok but this concerns mathematical logic. Can you measure something without changing it? What does it mean 'additional to HUP'?

  15. Alright, enough joking. There are two types of mutations. 1. For muscle dystrophy or color blindness because of a single letter genetic mutation. Sometimes they send in the crispr to fix that one single letter for proper enzyme production. What I assume is that once the letter is switched, the correct enzyme begins to produce without having to proliferate(regeneration). 2. This is from speculation(I guess it really doesn't belong here = =). If I swap all the chromosomes in my body with the bear's chromosome, which is considered a mutation. Do all the cells in my body gets converted to bear cells automatically? Do the cell's identity changes because I swap the chromosomes in the nucleus? Human cell + bear chromsomes in the nucleus = bear cell? P.S. I think it is possible, question answered, thanks

  16. Fine. So now you require that I trace down for every one of the 100 contributions to this anti-Einstein pamphlet, who wrote it and why, otherwise the question is not even qualified to be considered in this forum? I chose to focus on one contribution, which was clearly thoughtful and made by a fairly clever chap, who was unfortunately unaware of observations that were forthcoming about 30 years ahead of time. If such a question is really abhorred in the forum then I request that this thread also be closed down as swiftly as the other one.
