  1. it is a 600 volt armature and the fields are 240 volts that would really be a big cap. I think the inpoles are too strong or the brush grade is to hard
  2. I have a dc motor and it is 800 hp. The problem is that it is pin firing under the brushes when i put it under load. We have turned the the comm,bought new brush holder & springs, also bought new brushes in thinking that they could have been of poor quality. We have also installed shimms under the poles pieces. After checking them the shims were the wrong thickness and not in the right order meaning alum, steel. Also notieced that 2 of the insulators were cracked and replaced. The neurtral was also adjusted. any ideas? It seems to be arcing on the trailing edge of the brush 1) I am thinkin of returning the comm 2) Removing shimms poles may be too strong thanks joe

The question is fine a equation f(x) that has a vertical asymptotes of X=1and X=3 and a horizontal asymptotes of Y=1 A) (x-1)(x-3) / y-1 = x^2-4x+3 / x-1 OR B) (x-1) /(x-1)(x-3) = just the oppsite of above is any of these correct? I think B is correct but right now I can't find any info on it in my book

The firms marginal cost associated with the 11 unit of a output is $12. What can i say about an increase in production should it produce 11 unit or no this is what i have output TC MC 10 $30 $3 per unit 11 $42 $12 per unit profit is $50 @10 units = 30/10 = $3 @11 unit = 42/11 = $3.80 it should not increase production because the cost more per unit to make did i go about this right? thanks joe

  11. the question is calculate the force (magitude and direction) on the -800nC the -800nC is in the orgin -y axis -200nC and is .02m from th e orgin x axis -200nC and it is .06 from the orgin now i labeled the starting from the -y axis q1, orgin q2 and the X axis is q3 F23 = 8.99E9 * -800E-9 * -200E-9/ .06^2 = .4 N Xvalue F12 = 8.99E9 * -800E-9 * -200E-9/ .02^2 = 3.6 N Y value F = squar root .4^2 + 3.6 ^2 f = 2.07 N the direction tan-1 (3.6/.4) = 83.7 degrees below the X axis are these correct thanks joe
  12. I am new to this and i am struggling on this problem. i am also realy struggling in my circuits class This is what i have so far the knowns Vs= 50v Vz = 10 v Iz = 32mA R1 = 1K ohm Rl =? "potentmeter" i just got the multisim program and could draw the cir if need be R1 is in series with the source and the zener and rl are in parallel it wants me to determine the range of Rl, Il, Vrl I havew so far is 50 /1K = 50mA Vrl = 10 v I l = 50mA-32 mA = 18 mA Rl = 556 ohms is this correct and how would i go about finding the range of Rl thanks joe
