  1. My educated guess would be it is the enzyme (amylase) found in saliva denaturing due to a condition change, perhaps the change in charge?
  2. But surely, with the ever expanding universe and the constant increase of entropy, the rate of gravity on a fixed surface to a degree of accuracy, will never be the replicated in time ?
  3. Gravity is the attraction of two masses as discovered by Newton and we know that the “rate” of gravity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance of the two masses, however this does not include any third party masses eg atmosphere, other things of large mass. So surely when measuring gravity at a fairly accurate rate not using the universal gravitation constant, we would never be able to accurately replicate a reading of g. This would be due to the interference of other sizeable enough planets causing some mass of the measured object to be “attracted” to their gravitational field. This alongside of the constant flux of the composition of the atmosphere, and space, which would interfere. Anybody able to provide clarity on this ?
  4. Apologies for the confusion. The question being why does the coffee spill out of a mug when given a sudden resultant force? My initial thoughts generally speaking was down to the covalent bonding in the cup allowing for minimal movement of the cup, where as the lack of bonding in the liquid allows for more movement of the liquid. The bonds also link to the EM forces exerted. But yet you say the reasoning is further than this ?
  5. And if you were to explain through the use "witchcraft and alchemy" (aka Newtonian physics) ?
  6. Hi All, During a recent university interview i was asked : You are walking with a cup of tea and have to abruptly stop, state which direct your tea would spill in and tell us why? To which i replied : Newtons first law states that an object will remain stationary or in uniform motion until a resultant force is acted upon it. With this is mind whilst walking with the cup full of tea it is in fact you that is in motion not the tea. There fore it will remain stationary until a resultant force is acted upon. As you come to an abrupt stop there is a resultant force present, and due to the molecular arrangement of the cup the cup its self will almost instantaneously stop, the liquid how ever will not. The reasoning for the liquid being displaced more than cup, is this do to the electromagnetic force being much weaker as electrons are not shared ? Thanks
  7. Hi all, Just really a theory of mine that i need clarifying: So when we hear cars driving past us it is not the engine we hear, but in fact the friction caused by the tires and the road. When you think of the amount of high speed traffic passing through main motorways, surely we should be able to harness this "wasted" energy and put it to use in a heat engine of some description by running some kind of fluid under the road close enough to be heated. I am unsure of the amount of energy wasted but i am sure it is much more than negligible. So who's with me ?
