  1. Leviathan: Congruence Cardiology This is a really great thread. The backwards method is an interesting way to approach the question posted in this thread. As the thread creator suggested, if we can imagine re-creating intelligent organic life in a petri dish, then surely, we can imagine that an intelligent species implanted certain biochemical algorithmic sequences to set forth in motion the evolution of our intelligent species. Imagine therefore that two human beings, living in close quarters during a time of great climactic turbulence (i.e., Ice Age) start to share all kinds of behaviors and mannerisms and actually start to resemble each other in appearance. This sounds silly, but we've all heard those old lady folk tales and social campfire stories of husbands-and-wives in American small towns who resemble each other or begin to resemble each other after years of marriage. Their values and behaviors are so similar or become similar that they start to look like two 'peas-in-a-pod.' In fact, that "premise" is what the unusual American sci-fi horror film "Leviathan" [1989] is all about --- a group of human undersea miners encounter a terrifying predatory creature that gorges the flesh of its human victims and then absorbs their bodies and brains to grow bigger (into some eerie conglomerate gestating super-being). What can we learn from science studies about morphological adaptations yielding interesting symbiotic structures as extensions of a genetic organic ability to metamorphose during a single lifespan (i.e., caterpillar-to-butterfly)? Certainly, in our modern age of networking wizardry (i.e., Facebook, eTrade, European Union), the ability of a human being to sensitively make profitable (and hence adaptive) networking connections can enhance survivability, which is why Hollywood (USA) makes films such as "The Wolf of Wall Street" [2013]. Such a model (albeit generic) could lend credence to the notion that if an intelligent species created us (and then left Earth), then perhaps this ancestral creator actually resembles us in appearance and behaviour. We could arguably use this model to posit the statement that medicines/nutrients/psycho-pharmacologicals that promote circulation enhances a human being's resilience to undesirable changes. After all, doesn't the circulatory system affect the respiratory system and influence our breathing? Easterners argue that yoga, which encourages focused meditative breathing can influence our overall psychological health. Would a hypothetical ancestral super-intelligence alien species resemble us in the circulatory system?
  2. Thanks for asking. This is more of a systemics approach to particle physics, so the modeling would involve taking ideas from various fields of science. I would say that Matrix Mathematics is the best 'tool' to use to build a model to support this water-strider theory. Matrix Math involves the relations between numbers in an array and can help us build loose models of relevant 'connective reactivity' (i.e., substitution catalysis). I'm a little intimidated since you're an official moderator, but in terms of evidence, why not approach this offbeat theory from a 'history of science' perspective --- i.e., 'what can the theories of universal ether and symbiotic evolution offer to this discussion?' I think this water-strider approach can help us understand the intellectual value of modern age connectivity-guesswork video games such as Q*bert. Conversely, we could re-present congruence geometry as support for this water-strider approach to physics. Matrix Mathematics Q*bert Also, Maxwell's model of elasticity I think offers interesting perspective to this theory: Maxwell material Basically, this 'water-strider' theory presents the value of connectivity modeling.
  3. A water strider (or Gerridae) is an insectisoid that can balance itself on the sensitive hydrogen-bonding in water molecules almost as if it can "walk on water." Water striders have the uncanny body control to create instant body weight-transference effectively enough to use the surface tension of water molecules to literally run across the surface of bodies of water. If a spider can teach us about the compatible geometric connectivity of objects in space (with their nifty connective webs), then a water strider can teach us about the tangible molecular connectivity of objects in space (with their nifty ability to stride across hydrogen-bonds in water). Einstein told us that space-time is a tangible planar reality and that universe bodies such as planets and stars situate themselves on space-time, creating relative curvatures that create gravity contoured "tracks." If the water strider can walk on water, then perhaps the universe is not only like railroad tracks but also like saran-wrap, allowing bodies and particles to sit on planar surfaces and creating indentations and ditches in which causal events such as dipping and rolling can occur. This 'water-strider' approach to universe physics can perhaps illuminate the deformative forces that gauge object and restoration integrity. Could the 'water-strider' approach help explain structural maintenance (and resilience)? This simple 'water-strider' approach suggests, for example, that gravity is diminutive. If the water strider is a creature that can control weight-distribution with great skill, what can weight-distribution teach us about physics principles such as center of mass, center of gravity, and centrifugal forces? 4. What would be nice if there were more studies about the effect of the advent of sea travel on pedestrianism consciousness. Sea Travel Effect on Colonial Traffic
  5. Yes, but both avatars were created after the invention of the Morse code, which impacted/affect the way civilization views transmission of information and hence reach of communications (which are a part of Internet mentality!). In fact, other American comic book avatars such as Electro (Marvel Comics) symbolize this modern (albeit general) interest. Morse Code Electro
  6. Modern culture is focused on networking efficiency (i.e., eTrade, Facebook, etc.). This orients our psychology towards traffic pattern sensitivity. We are predisposed to understanding how things connect and are compatible for pedestrian traffic and mercantile relations (i.e., Wall Street). The way we sweat has literally changed. American media is filled with movies and television shows about comic book superheroes such as Magneto (Marvel Comics), a mutant who can control magnetism, and Plastic Man (DC Comics), a mutant who can stretch since his body is comprised of plastic. These society avatars represent a new age fascination with body reach. It is no surprise that psycho-somatic conditions of self-image such as obesity are modern age problems. In this modern climate, the new psychological inquiry seems to be about appendage deterioration. Magnetism Sci-Fi Psychology of Prosthetics
