This band walked the fine line between rock and southern rock and country music. Named after a mountainous region, this song gave instructions on how to do a few interesting things, one of which was how to find an angel.

Not too easy, I think we just have similar taste in music. I grew up listening to The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, John Prine, Allman Brothers, etc. I imagine most people did not have a clue about who this was.

How about this:

This band is originally from your neck of the woods. They played American southern rock as well as a mix of genres. The band is named for a law officer, and the name of the lead vocalist makes one think of children. One of my favorite songs is about a quest for a meteorological phenomenon.

Name the band, lead singer, and song.

OK time for a transatlantic change of genre

One of the first wave of British punk rock in the mid-Seventies but sometimes beautifully lyrical and harmonious, the lead singer summed up his guitar ability in his stage name, perhaps their most famous song (from the album of the same name) is based around a short phrase made famous during the second world war. In other songs they picked un-winnable fights, mocked fictional arabic rulers (apparently this was the first song US armed services radio played in the desert storm theatre of battle), and simply asked if they were still wanted around.

The Clash, Rock the Casbah, Joe Strummer...

This band was an american progressive rock band, the album was known for large deceptions, the hit single from this album was instrumental in the album going platinum, the song was about a close encounter of the third kind... The song was controversial in some circles due to satanic connections...
