I know that expansion slots are for adding additional functions to an embedded system. But my question is, just what kind of things/functions can be added through the expansion slots?

Take this one for example: http://surveyor-corp...t/srbaexmo.html ......Is it possible to mount servos on the SRV through the expansion module so that the servos can be controlled by the SRV-1 Blackfin Camera?

Depending on what you're trying to do, you may find this camera will work. It's about 100 $ and will control servos directly from the camera board.

Just had a look at the expansion bus on the Blackfin and it looks like you can control 2 servos directly from the camera board or the expansion module. so yes.
