Vortex rings through ground? Rate Topic: -----

I’ve seen people blowing smoke rings and dolphinsblowing bubble rings I was wondering if it was a physical possibility to do thesame thing but through soil or sand or whether its too dense.

What exactly is a vortex ring? Is it ashock wave of force carrying another substance or is it an actual particle flow

Shaken, not Stirred
Air bubbles and smoke rings are different substances than the medium, so I think it's clear that it's actual flow rather than a density fluctuation.

You can get fairly coherent ring vortices with a single substance though.

We had one similar to these one Christmas - and you could knock down Greetings cards from at least 20 feet

Fairy coherent rings propagate through the soil. :rolleyes:

and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them;
however, the line between good and evil runs through every human heart.
