Dots/patterns/fuzz in your field of vision

Recommended Posts

This is kind of hard to explain, I'm just curious if there's any information or like a name for this. Have you ever noticed in your field of vision dots, and occasional shapes/lines that sort of fuzz/bounce overtop what's actually in front of you? If you defocues you can notice it better -- just like moving dots and things. It kind of has a rhythm like it bounces and it changes depending on what you're looking at -- like patterns.

Am I the only person who sees this or does anyone else? It's not like you notice it all the time but I'm sure if you stare blankly at something you'll see what I'm talking about. I think it might be related to schizotypy, though I wouldn't think it's actually a type of hallucination -- just some basic side-effect of your brain.

I think its roots are more Biology based than psych based.

I get the same thing too, and certain lighting conditions make it more clearly visible, in fact I have this one spot in the top left corner of my vision where there`s a bright violet/white pin spot light that flashes on and off, it`s extremely bright but doesn`t block anything out, it stays in that pin spot, and the flashing I found out later was in perfect time to my heart rate.

which suggests to me thats it probably a blood vessel close to the optic nerve somewhere.

perfectly harmless but non the less a strange effect when it happens :)

The fact that it's more noticeable depending on light conditions (which I've noticed too), and for me at least seems to be effected somewhat by what I'm looking at hints that there may be a psychological aspect to it as well. But the idea of a blood vessel or some sort of biological explanation makes a lot of sense. Maybe the cause is biological but just like anything else in your vision it gets processed in your brain through perception (if you've had psychology you know there's sensation which is like the raw input to your brain and then perception which is where it gets processed).

DH, in my case I tend to get it 1`st thing in the morning within minutes of waking up when I sit down, so I`m assuming it has something to do with relaxed physical state and probably blood pressure changes in that transition.

after the 1`st half cup of coffee it`s gone :)

cool, and yes I`ve seen all those with the exception of Haidinger's brush.

and if I have seen it, it was too insignificant to be worthy of memory commitment.

In my opinion I think this is more likely to be the cause of this effect that any pshychological disorder.

it`s neat about the leukocytes though, I always considered them to be WAY TOO tiny to be observable :)

I have a question. How come I see the same dots at night in pitch black? It's really in the dark that I first noticed it. It changes slightly -- there's more white and less black whereas I usually see black and less white but I figure it's just the background -- the black dots blend in.

As far as I'm aware, these are the reasons we see dots and shapes in our field of vision,

1. Occasionaly, blood vessels around the retina bursts, the resulting blood clot can break free and float in the eyes fluid, [a floater] most people have about 4 or 5 of these at any one time, any more and you should consult an optician

2. minute dust and dirt particles can stick to the front of the eye, when they pass the pupil we can just about see them, especially if you look up at a clear blue sky

3. most disturbingly, there are parasitc animals that make a home on your eye, the names of these fail me at the moment. some live in the gut and find their way to the eye, by hitching a ride on bathroom towels. about 1 in 3 of us have them, they're quite harmless, unless you suffer from conjunctivitus.

I do know that some specifically evolved to live on the mammalian eye ball, in the tear ducts or on the eye lid.

The most common of which appears as a squigley line in the field of vision.

This particular parasite doesn't actually live in your eye (I don't know the name of it). There are parasites that do this but there's a myth that a certain parasite which usually lives in other animals finds your eye thinking it's the gut of the other animals because of similar temperature and stuff.

As we are discussing spots of light here, you may like to try seeing what I see!

The interesting aspect of these lights is that they occur with a 6 second rhythm.

Sit facing a bright light, like in the sun and stare at your inner eyelid. After about 100 seconds keep looking and I've noticed a brighter honecomb array of lights that seem to pulse at six seconds intervals for two seconds.

What can they be?

This my be an unrecorded bio-rhythm!

I don't think what I see is blue filed entoptic phenomenon. I definitely see this in pitch black and for it to be red/white blood cells there has to be light. If I focus clearly enough on "it" I can see things moving -- like not just dots but poorly defined objects.

hello,i am new to this site,so if i make a mistake or 2 plz bare with me.i am shocked by the forum i read on here.the forum was by 1veedo,as we have a symptom we share with vision.i would like to chat with him and people with simular vision and of all types..i tried to chat earlier with people and there were no responces.if someone would show me around alittle i would really appreciate it...thank you..

ok,now im getting somewhere.my experience with this is that my whole field of vision is like a black and white tv.I can see things the way they are appeared for instance a radio looks like a radio,a person looks like a person and ect.the difference is they are covered with glittering dots, black and white.when looking at the blue sky it is more intence in distortion.i also noticed this in flourecent lighting as well and looking at a white object with flourecent lights is absolutly disrupting(the ugliest thing i ever seen).also,i see big blotches of light as well as blotches of primary colors.zigzag lines and floaters as well.ive been to eye specialist(said"i have astigmatism and nearsighted, but no significant answer for the bizarre vision".i have also went to a psychiatrist(said"i am being diagnosed for bipolar",which i suffer from.and again no concrete reason for the bizarre vision.i have also went to neurologist(he said"i had a chronic aura migrane disorder which i do suffer from severe migranes on a daily basis.he had no name for these dots.he prescribed me elivil for the pain.this was 2 years ago.i still see the bizarre vision and realize its getting more progressive...if someone would like to chat about this,it would be great.the most important thing about this is that i am DRUG FREE besides the anti depressants/psychotics i take...thank you for your time and i hope i get a positive response..thank you..

I too have this problem. I was wondering if you ever found out anything about this. I have been to every opt/dr I know. Nobody seems to know anything nor believe me when I explain it to them. My e-mail is trinityaqk@gmail.com

I am tired of every wall - every person - every sky - everything i see covered in a scrambled style of dots. I can see perfectly fine except for this scrambled vision.

This is kind of hard to explain, I'm just curious if there's any information or like a name for

this. Have you ever noticed in your field of vision dots, and occasional shapes/lines that sort of fuzz/bounce

overtop what's actually in front of you? If you defocues you can notice it better -- just like moving dots and

things. It kind of has a rhythm like it bounces and it changes depending on what you're looking at -- like

patterns.

Am I the only person who sees this or does anyone else? It's not like you notice it all the time but I'm sure if

you stare blankly at something you'll see what I'm talking about. I think it might be related to schizotypy, though

I wouldn't think it's actually a type of hallucination -- just some basic side-effect of your brain.

man, I wish I would've done a Google search a few months back !

OK let me start by explaining everything about my vision.

It doesn't matter if my eyes are open or closed, bright or dark, I see light fuzz all the time. The colors of it are

red, yellow, white and maybe a couple of darker tone.

If I defocus my eyes, lids open or closed I begin to see the dots, my second way of describing them was bubble glass

or a still pattern of cells that works as well to describe it.

Sometimes I get a bright light appearing for about half a second, it can appear anywhere it's not always on the same

spot and sometimes it's brighter than other times. It's not very frequent but I can have 4 to 5 in a day.

During the day when I look at the blue sky and defocus my eyes and try not to look at one same spot I begin to see

what I like to call "Weflies" as in white fire-flies see it by the millions swirling in all directions (it's so

cool:eek:)

it works better if the sky is clear but I see them however the weather is and if I look at my surroundings it works

as well as long as I'm outside during the day.

All of the above is when I'm drug free, now when I smoke Cannabis it becomes more intense, I don't need to defocus

my eyes to see the dots and they are a lot bigger in distinct, also the bright light that appears sometimes is

intensified hundred fold. Oh yeah and at night by the fire the flames have similar dot pattern but each dot is

surrounded by some sort of geometric forms, pretty awesome I think.

Wait it gets better, I also consume Sacred Mushrooms when I can get them. So while under the influence at least in

the dark the fuzz the dots become a pattern of flames almost like this flaming eye:

http://toolshed.down.net/pix/lat/lateralusCShand.gif

That eye represents the third eye or minds eye, AKA pineal gland witch secretes DMT. Once I had a little accident

and made a bit of a nasty cut on my thumb and a few seconds later the fuzz became lights tingling all over. I was

in a situation where it's natural for DMT to be released in to our brain. I felt a similar felling to Ayahuasca.

I too have this problem.

I don't see it as a problem. In fact our eyes might be our visual organs but it's our mind that sees.

And quoting Bill Hicks "Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow

vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life

is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves."

Everything that we see is Illusion created by our minds by being tuned on to a frequency, maybe our frequency as the

knob slightly to one side and we see the energy or maybe it's the DMT. All I know for sure is that when I put myself

on a altered state of consciousness it allows me to see whatever I see better it's like it zooms in.

I don't believe that "drugs" caused this.

Please contact me if we share any of this so we can learn from each other !

i see dots also, i've noticed them since i was a teenager. They appear to be yelow in the centre with a red/pinkish layer around and these yellow/pinkish dots are surrounded in a blue (sky blue) colour. The dots can change from yellow to pink centers, they are very hard to focus on and appear to change.

they are light a screen of see through dots, like they appear to make up your vision, like a pixilation.

Is there any pictures of these dots?? I also see the germ like things but this is not them.....

I've had speckled, pixelated vision since I was 12 years old in both eyes (I'm 33). I have no idea what the cause is / was. Everything I see day and night is like watching a tv with low resolution, I used to look at the night sky a lot when I was younger, now when I do this I just see millions of dots (orangy in colour flaring). It's not a big deal in the sense that it hasn't changed my life in any significant way. It is pronounced though and I visited an opthamologist recently since I was concerned that it has got worse. The opthamologist I visited found nothing wrong with the eye and along with my optician looked at me as if I was making it up - which is pretty frustrating, I've never had any other health issues. Can anyone shed (non-speckled) light please.

I forgot to mention, one optician said my speckled vision probably had something to do with me being colour blind (greens etc.). I think he was groping in the dark though.

I have been studying this for 6 years now. If you look into the clear blue sky, and looking away from the sun, and then defocus (to blur you vision)

to the point you see that enzyme in your eye (looks like a translucent worm of cells). once you get to this state of vision look into the foreground,

and then you well notice what looks like white dots like on a snowy television channel. Now if you try to consecrate (not focus)

on them you well see them moving in a twisting motion. What your seeing is a tracer of a partical that is moving faster then you can see

So you maybe woundering what this is. It is the thing that electricity is made from. And what moved the giant stones in ancient time.

Its been called Mana, Jewels, and now we call it magenism.

Lighting is created from it. At the dam you have turbines that have earth magnets that spin by a coil and as the two poles collide in the coil it changes

into electricity. In a car battery zinc plates are submerged in acid ans as the zinc plates desinagrate the magnets that are within the plates are released

and channelled into the north and south poles of the battery and when the two ends collide they change into electricity. As a cloud builds north pole magnets

in it and passes over a spot on the ground that has built up south pole magnets it creates lighting. The sun desinagrates everything in mass quanities. It

produces mass quanities of magnitizm of the minerals kind.As it hits the earth it is like snow flake lighting happening very soft. This is what causes white

light. AS we know there is no light between a star and a plant or object, there is only light where it hits the planet or object. All matter has magnetizm in

it, and this is what creates the light.I can also see this in stone,it seems to be in all things. We know that our planet in protected from the sun with a

magnetic field this can be channeled, it flows through metal easier then through air that is why a compass works the way it does. This is the 5th element.

Iam pretty sure that there is 3 kinds mineral, planet and animal. It seems to be the life force in everything, I'll go as far as saying it is what looks out

your eye's. It may have something to with what gods is. Did you know 9 times any number is 9 by adding answer. 3 times 9 is 36 3 and 6 equal 9 and so on.

And 1,2,4,5,7,8 are perpetual as in 1 plus1 is 2, 2 plus 2 is 4, 4 plus 4 is 8, 8 plus 8 is 16 which added together is 7, 7 plus 7 is 14 added is 5, 5 plus 5 is 10 which is 1,

and repeat s over and over. 0 is an absents of a number.
