Another woman has come forward. She says AF fully cupped her ass cheek while having a picture of the two of them taken by her husband at the fair. This would've happened after he was already a senator back in 2010 and she posted about it at the time on her FB page:

https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/policy-and-politics/2017/11/16/16665830/al-franken-sexual-assault-allegations

Shocking.

So now there are three ass grabbing accusations against Al Franken.

http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/al-franken-issues-apology-after-groping-accusations-surface-w512619

Al has also come forward with an apology.

Quote

"I've met tens of thousands of people and taken thousands of photographs, often in crowded and chaotic situations," Franken said (via The Associated Press). "I'm a warm person; I hug people. I've learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters, I crossed a line for some women — and I know that any number is too many. Some women have found my greetings or embraces for a hug or photo inappropriate, and I respect their feelings about that."

Franken added, "I've thought a lot in recent days about how that could happen, and recognize that I need to be much more careful and sensitive in these situations. I feel terribly that I've made some women feel badly and for that I am so sorry, and I want to make sure that never happens again. And let me say again to Minnesotans that I'm sorry for putting them through this and I'm committed to regaining their trust."

A clasic "I'm sorry that you were offended" non apology.  Also it reads like he can't quite figure out how he got caught and called out on ass grabbing because he thought he was being "careful and sensitive" enough during past ass grabbing incidences.

But how can anyone trust any apology from Al Franken?  All Franken wrote a skit about the raping of Lesley Stahl.  He later apologized about the skit during his campagin.   Then in his recent book he wrote the following.

http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2017/11/al-frankens-transgressions.php

Quote

To say I was sorry for writing a joke was to sell out my career, to sell out who I’d been my entire life. And I wasn’t sorry that I had written Porn-o-Rama or pitched that stupid Lesley Stahl joke at 2 in the morning. I was just doing my job.

I learned that campaigns have their own rules, their own laws of physics, and that if I wasn’t willing to accept that, I would never get to be a senator.

So is Franken simply  playing by his campaign rules?  Does the truth matter?

Your above post just like the rest of your posts in this thread are an extremely weak attempt at sarcasm meant to discredit a political party. Its so weak that democrats should be thankful for such a clumsy attempt. Hint for the future - try to be at least a little funny when doing this.

Franken's Political career is rightfully in peril. Rather than being a black eye to Democrats I actually think it is something to celebrate. It shows a level of accountability which isn't present on the other side. Democrats are taking prompt action with regards to Rep. Convey and Sen. Franken; Conyers has stepped aside from the Judiciary Committee and Franken publicly acknowledging embarrassment. Stark contrast to a President who continues counter attack his own sexual harassment victims while endorsing a pedophile who is also a Republican. Some might attempt to fudge the context here an claim all this proves both sides are the same but that would be inaccurate. Clearly the Democratic party is holding their own members to a higher standard. I hope people are able to identify the distinction.

Some will. Others will highlight a different distinction.

“See? Those Dems are a bunch of sexual assaulters. We can’t vote for them. Look how many have already admitted to their wrongdoing and quit or been fired over it! But not my Republicans. No siree. Those are just lies that have been rightly denied and then hatefully blown out of proportion by the fake news and leftie liberal media.”

Then there is the false equivalents where child molesters like Roy Moore who committed sexual acts on girls young as 14yrs old are Al Franken are discussed as equals. Ultimately all the Democrats can do is their own honest due diligence and hope enough people see the difference. I don't want to see a "if you can't beat them join them" attitude unfold.

Ever here of the term "bimbo eruptions".  Ever wonder what you would find if you drug a 100 dollar bill through a trailer park?  Do you know what the definition of the word is is?  Ever hear of a woman named Mary Jo Kopechne.

Sexual predators are found in both parties.  Sex scandals are common in the democratic party.  Rarely are democrats held accountable by their party.

You reference Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky (definition of is) and then Ted Kennedy (Mary Jo Kopechne) before claiming Sexual predators blah blah blah. Both situations you reference were consensual ones. You are making a false equivalence. Additionally due diligence was done in both situations. Ken Star ran a thorough independent investigation in the Clinton Lewinksy affair and a grand jury invested the Chappaquiddick incident.

Yet more bullshit from the queen of denial. Franken openly invited an ethics inquiry and will accept his lumps for the minor transgressions he was involved with, while Dictator Trump and Molester Moore get a pass for advocating sexual assault in the workplace and molesting/threatening youth.

Your little jihad against liberalism fails again, miserably.

How can anyone take you seriously with your "Dictator Trump" comments.  What part of the constitution has he violated as President?  What branch of government has he eliminated?

"When he put his arm around me, he groped my right breast. He kept his hand all the way over on my breast," Kemplin said in an interview. "I've never had a man put their arm around me and then cup my breast. So he was holding my breast on the side."

What is with the photo-groping?  Does Al think women will look back fondly of being groped by him?

No. He doesn't. Trump  does though. Here's a citation of the fact issues.

“When you’re a star they let you do it”

“I did try and fuck her, she was married,” and says that when he meets beautiful women he feels able to “grab them by the pussy”.

“You can do anything,”

Isn't this the 'whataboutism' that you're always complaining about, RangerX.

This is a thread about A Frankin, just another pig who takes advantage of women.
I have nothing to say about him, so I haven't made any comments.

Why do you feel the need to say " but what about the behavior  of D Trump "
( another pig who happens to be president )
Trump's behavior in no way excuses Frankin's.

You can't complain when others do it, if you do it yourself.

You are not wrong. This is about Franken. It seems everyone has agreed that he should be held accountable for his actions. Currently from Roy Moore to Matt Lauer there are many high profile people embroiled is various scandals related to sex and the mistreatment of women. So it is somewhat difficult to singularly focus on Franken without commenting on the while environment for context. I personally would prefer some references to the other at large events in this thread than for the whole forum to fill up with individual threads treating each individual case as though they exist in a vacuum.

It's not whataboutism. This is about the false narrative that's been trolled up by this thread.

Republicans fail all moral authority under Trump, yet preach it liberal proportions.

Muddy the water with Franken, detract from Trump. Oldest, phoniest trick in the book.

See, there you go. Saying something derogatory, then claiming you didn't say anything about him.

Don't piss on my leg then tell me it's raining.

How is it derogatory if he's taken full responsibility for it ?

That makes him a pig, and does not matter if he's a Democrat, Republican, Senator or President.
People are judged by their own actions, RangerX.

You admonish Waitforufo for bringing in political affiliation, yet you do it every chance you get.
( and that's what I commented on )

Could the piss running down your leg be your own, due to senility ?
( sorry, couldn't resist, hope you know I'm joking )

The moral failures of liberal leaders has been admonished, yet we've not seen any moral authority from conservative leaders.

The OP fails at making the situation appear the other way around.

It's derogatory because you called him a pig. It's hypocritical because you followed up by saying you didn't say anything (no less derogatory) about him.

WTF Is with that?

And if you call that a joke, it was a sick one.

Doesn't this create a bit of a standard where one is better off just doing the wrong thing and denying their accusers further victimizing them?

Does that really sound like an acknowledgement of guilt or taking responsibility?  He's suggesting that his groping was simply a misunderstanding caused by "crowded and chaotic situations."  It's also a "I'm sorry that you were offended" and not a "I'm sorry that I groped you" apology.  He then goes on to say that during "crowded and chaotic" situations he needs to be more careful and sensitive."  Sounds like a denial of intent to me.

Matt Lauer was terminated within 24 hours despite him being the most popular and highest paid person at NBC News. Al Frankin apologized, agreed with being investigated by the ethics committee, has gone on to multiple outlets to discuss these events and try to correct for past mistakes, and Democrats are very seriously considering asking him to step down.

Meanwhile, Roy Moore continues to label ALL of the many women who have come forward as liars, has been endorsed by Trump in the past week, and is climbing in the polls. There is no equivalency here.

But Moore might now be regaining ground.

The Republican leads in three polls taken after Thanksgiving. Both Change Research and JMC Analytics show a five-point lead for Moore, and Emerson College has him ahead by six. The RealClearPoltics average, which showed a Jones lead days ago, now has Moore up by two points.

He acknowledges that he made people feel bad, it is behavior that shouldn't happen again, and that as a result people have lost trust in him. That is a standard apology in my opinion. By default no apology good as they the aftermath of something bad. People would prefer the bad thing never happened at all and apologizes don't change that. Additionally the one apologizing is incriminating themselves which isn't a natural thing for anyone to do.

But hey, you can say anything if you're just being honest, or it was just a joke, right?
