All science forums lie to the public.

Also, when someone calls you stupid or that you lack understanding, then that's only for a particular subject...he or she does not make assumptions concerning your IQ.

Ignorant is the precise word to use, not stupid. We prefer nobody calls any person stupid here. Calling someone ignorant implies a temporary and limited situation. Calling a person stupid implies a kind of global idiocy that is inaccurate and insulting.

Ideas can be stupid, you can call them that. Oh boy, can they be stupid. ;)

Moderator Note

This is an ethics conversation about discussion forums. It is not the place to be arguing details of specific scientific theories, as I have already noted.

Accordingly, several posts have been removed.

All Cretans are liars.

You should include the whole thing:

King James Bible, Titus chapter 1, verse 12

"One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons"

So if a Cretan says "All Cretans are liars" what should we include?

Mr Lesser

When one person tells you 'you don't understand', that may be presumptuous.

Even if two or three people tell you that, they may still be presumptuous.

But when EVERYBODY tells you that, maybe you should consider that they are right !

No.

You should check out the original from about 400 years earlier.

Incidentally, (and a bit off topic- so if you plan to respond, start another thread) if you check, you find lots of things in the Bible that are actually a lot older.

It's as if it was cobbled together from lots of older bits.
