Stand up, all victims of oppression For the tyrants fear your might Don't cling so hard to your possessions For you have nothing if you have no rights

I feel like culturally the general population values general consumer products more so than education. Yeah in a sense we're taken advantage of, their's the elite tyrants who turned college into a profit center. Among many other things. But the general population doesn't care, it's partly our own fault.

So, I wrote a paper on my idea on the Panopticon and its relation to society, questioning the existence of democracy. Got a 97% on it.

What's YOUR Axiom of Choice? Does exist mean "one we can find" like the left shoe from a pair of shoes? Or does exist mean "we know there is one, even if we can't specify it" like which sock goes on your left foot?

This is a problem. I bought the infinity pack of tube sox,and now the drawer won't quite close. I want to put all the left sox in one drawer and leave all the right sox where they are...

My paper in Journal of Physics A is going to be listed as one of the 'Publisher's Pick' articles as they regards it to be of particular interest to their readers. I am very pleased.

As a Gower Street grad I would prefer UCL and the delights of the Jeremy Bentham (the pub not the corpse) rather than Strand Poly (as we always refered to Kings as). But as AJB said - both great places. My niece is a doctoral candidate at Kings right now and loves it

I'd have to say thanks to you two and a few others who have helped me with homework questions. You've also tolerated my writing style which I think has improved because of it. UCL is my first choice but I'll happily take kings if they don't get back to me. ow study study study, final exams in early june :/

I think I have a new class of sigma models, I know there internal symmetries and now I have no idea what to do with them! I have been trying to read up on quantum aspect of such models...not so easy for my models.

I managed to develop a hashcode equation that decrease the amount of collisions of a large book from 79192 collisions to 28 collisions. I'm proud.

Tell me, how are hash functions like SHA1 used to secure webpages in SSL? I'm looking at hashes on HTTPS certificates, but they're meaningless to me.
    Apr 17, 2015
  • Unity+'s Photo
    Unity+
Well, my hash function isn't meant for security purposes, but is meant for putting entries into a list without having to search through the whole list of items. Hashcodes assign an index of an entry into a particular index of an array. Since a hashcode % arraysize can have similarities, there are collisions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptographic_hash_function I think the way it works is the hashcode function is one-way, therefore the hash values are not decryptable. That is just my interpretation of it, though.

Looks great (and a belated congrats, by the way)! Good luck with everything come July.

Also, I think I spotted a small typo on the home page.

"...however our primary focus on RNA virus populations in... "

Should have an, 'is,' in there:
