Something tells me your'e joking and you know exactly what is and how to use it :) It's a cool device and it does a great job especially at live gigs. I used it a couple of times live and it's fun.

The above makes me have second thoughts on my previous sceptisism towards AI reaching "proper" sentience any time soon.

Found a video on the gender wage gap. I don't want to start a discussion where you have to watch a video, but anybody interested can watch this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13XU4fMlN3w

I've reached this strange point in my life - and I'm not quite certain whether it's a point more people reach, or a psychiatric problem - where I tempt to memorise as much as possible from any damn text I'm reading. And it's driving me crazy.

Nurse! Nurse! We have another one here. Take notes, compress, summarise, and condense; learn the final "essence". Although in Medicine (from my memory of my couple of years of it) just memorizing stuff is pretty much par for the course - just make sure you avoid looking for clinical diagnostic points when reading the newspaper

Hardest theoretical exam of the whole 6-year medical curriculum tomorrow (which is what every grad student says). Wish me luck.

Anyone here watched Grave of Fireflies? Just watched it for the second time: forgot just how brilliant and completely devastating that film is. Studio Ghibli is several orders of magnitude better than Disney.

What Ghibli films would you deem too violent/adult? I can't think of any Ghibli film i wouldn't let a child of any age watch.

For small children I would definitely be careful with (off the top of my head) the above mentioned Grave of the Fireflies (maybe ages 10-12+), Princess Mononoke (gore and violence), maybe Nausicaa (bit of violence), Castle in the sky (ditto). And there are many movies that are certainly boring for small kids, such as Only Yesterday or From Up On Poppy Hill which are clearly not made for children as an audience in mind. It is clearly up to debate but they are clearly not sanitized as Disney mo...

I guess it's the unsanitised that i like. I let kids watch far more violent things than princess mononoke, but maybe i'm just an irresponsible uncle.

In Dutch, potassium iodide tablets are called "jodiumtabletten", which means as much as iodine tablets. I curse the person having invented the word "jodiumtabletten". Which is a total paradoxal name for what it is. It doesn't have iodine. Sigh.

It doesn't sound like the DUP will try to push an ultra conservative agenda. But it seriously undermines the peace process and makes a return to the Troubles more likely.
