Xittenn  Forums should have a dynamic events system like GW2 . . . . . I refrained from posting this as a suggestion. I feel I've now done the best that I can!

Ye Pow'rs, wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies:
But, if ye wish her gratefu prayer,
Gie her a Haggis!

I notice this thread disappeared from the home page shortly after my post. I hope you didn't think I was taking the Mickey. Your mention of Scottish accent and haggis brought to mind Rabbie Burns Scottish poem "Address to a Haggis". I thought it might be a bit of fun. As you know, I have a rather strange sense of humour!

Well, I have to show my ignorance-particularly as I like fish! So it's no and no! I guess I lead a simple life where food is concerned and rarely ,for example, have starters. I've always seen caviar as a luxury that we could do without.

Xittenn  Apr 29, 2012
Beluga caviar is non sustainable and is something that people should generally avoid. I don't see caviar from sustainable sources as a problem.

Nor do I. The "we" I used meant my wife and I. We can do without it as it's rather expensive.

Xittenn  36 hours until first term completion. The first thing I will do is buy a bottle of wine get pissed and go on a code-a-thon. I hope to at the very least do an overview of the 'self generating darrieus windmill' and why we don't use the earths magnetic field in these forms of generators during my 12 days off.

you tried any 3D development?
Xittenn's Photo
Xittenn  Apr 13, 2012
Yes, I am working on a Scientific Computing Engine where users can develop models in a 3D working environment . . . I also have a game design diploma and have created sample games. My title project was a concept called Roz: New Mexico.

I'm also working on a Double Major in Math and Comp-Sci, not to be repeating that all over the place . . .

Xittenn  I was told to stop trying to predict the future today. I responded "I do not try to predict the future, I assign probabilities to an n dimmensional array of pathways . . . "

I suppose we must always think of the future as made of possibilities. Although we can plan towards making the possibilities strong, we can never make them certain.

The best laid schemes of mice and men
Go often awry,
And leave us nothing but grief and pain,
For promised joy!(Robert Burns 1785).

Seeing a certain someones post I feel really bad for being open about my feelings online. I am the same way with people here as I am in real life. When I do express my faults outwardly people seem to feel more comfortable about talking about themselves with me. This usually leads to some pretty interesting conversations. This might not be such a great idea here . . . but then I feel like I have to close myself off. I really wish I could find a good mix where I don't feel ...

Xittenn  Do teachers laugh at students when they want to be good at something but fall on their faces trying?

Joatmon  Mar 31, 2012
A group of teachers is as diverse as any other group of people. However, in my experience they were always keen that their students would do well and worked towards that aim. I never knew one who would deliberately "put down" a student who was trying to achieve. So in answer to your question I would say no.

Ryder's QFT is a very explicit book, this means it is good as a pedagogical introduction.

Xittenn  Transferring to double major math and comp sci at another school. . . . they offer a graduate in math with focus on scientific computing. Fits well with my historical endeavours, I guess I can be a team player and work on problems from an analyst position.

I do too, but I'm just at pre-calc, that's like saying I like cooking when all I know how to make is cereal. So we'll just have to see, when it comes to me. xD

You'll get there, be patient with it, math is something you take your time with to get to know. Some people absorb it instantly but at the same time I think that these people tend to miss a lot of subtleties. Time spent is what will take you to where you are a master of the subject. I've had a lot of time to learn maths and I am so excited to go over much of it again because I will learn so much more the second and third and fourth time through.
