  1. Well, I'm afraid the evidence here is against you (for both your written English and your comprehension). As I say, I am willing to edit a short extract from your abstract so you can see how much work it needs to be acceptable. (I might even say it is perfect as it is!) I think that is a very positive idea.
  2. I hope that is the wrong way round! Otherwise, not much of a compression.
  3. Honest opinions are friendly, even if you don't like to hear them. You might think it would be a "positive opinion" to tell you that your English is perfect. But your English is very poor, so it would not be friendly or helpful. Giving you positive, constructive criticism to help you improve your English is friendly and helpful. If you don't want any such help, then just say so.
  4. Then use a file of significant size. A large image or a Word document.
  5. I agree, if you have submitted something then you should wait until you hear from them before doing anything. If they ask you to submit the complete paper, then you can do that. If they don't then you shouldn't. As several people have suggested before, you really need to find someone who is fluent in English to help your write your paper. Why not post the first two or three sentences of your abstract and I will edit them for you so you can get an idea of how much work is required. (I usually charge a lot of money for this!)
  6. What do you mean by "items"? What do you mean by "opened"? What do you mean by "touch"? Why would you not want to touch the items before getting mail? Sometimes, I have no idea what you are talking about.
  7. If it doesn't say on their website exactly what these terms mean (and it probably doesn't) then all we can do is guess. Without knowing the details of how they process submissions, I would agree with Ophiolite: it has probably been taken from the server and put in a queue to be considered. I expect the next stage will be: Rejected.
  8. I think you should test it on a large file. A large sequence of random numbers, for example.
  9. Let me think about that for a moment.... No, he isn't.
  10. What is "the present one"? There are many sources of energy currently used. Where is this rumour from? What does it say?
  11. No, it is just an alternative suggestion, because: 1. You may find it hard to find someone who publishes ideas for research projects. 2. If you want to do the research, I assume you will need some help.
  12. If I understand you correctly, this is an idea or proposal for research that you would like to do. Is that correct? Graphs are usually used to summarise the results of research, so I am not sure what sort of graphs would be relevant to your proposal. Rather than trying to get this project idea published, maybe you should contact universities to see if they are willing to help with this research.
  13. I always think of "holes" as charge carriers in semiconductors when this comes up. I don't know if they are real or not.
  14. You may not have meant it as insulting, but it is!
  15. Well, you compare a simple light switch with the more complex circuit of a dimmer that allows the brightness to be controlled. Similarly, for some purposes it might be enough just to have a switch to turn a motor on or off. But the motor that drives an electric car has very complicated control circuitry with a microprocessor that runs very complex software to control the current through each phase of the motor. This is necessary to provide very precise control over the speed of the motor. (And also for efficiency and safety).
  16. Certainly. But I am not aware of any significant work in modern science being done by individuals.
  17. Right. But you said "reproduction has to involve DNA passing and inheriting". It may be something other than DNA.
  18. In that case, I do not understand what you are asking. I said modern science. I am not aware of any significant work in modern science being done by individuals.
  19. Just to be a really clear on this. If someone sent me a proposal that was not relevant, there are two possibilities. 1. I read the proposal and think it is good (but not relevant). In which case I would reply with something like: "Your work is very interesting but I am afraid it is not relevant to us" 2. I haven't read the proposal because it is not relevant, then I would say something like: "I am sure your work is very interesting but I am afraid it is not relevant to us" The phrase "I am sure it is interesting" is a polite way of saying "I haven't read it" (or possibly, "I have read it but didn't understand it" or even "I have read it and it is rubbish") How is Avicenna relevant to any of this?
  20. Of course. I am only a native speaker of English who has both received and sent such emails. That is exactly the sort of wording I would use to tell someone we are not interested.
  21. There is NO difference in meaning between those two forms. The first is just slightly more formal.
  22. Because there is no reason to expect alien life to be based on DNA
  23. OK, so there are more complex circuits that may have capacitors, resistors, transistors or even microprocessors. There are many reasons why these might be required from reducing noise (e.g. reducing unwanted radio interference) to controlling the light or the motor or making it more efficient or ...
