  1. Why do we use soap to wash our hands? talking about plain soap not antibacterial or anything. What does soap do to remove more germs and bacteria? When Im washing my hands in the bathroom and using some plain old liquid hand soap... what is soap doing to remove more germs? Does it actually? Or is soap a scam?
  2. I always use it to wipe down my phone screen, computer keyboard, gym headphones, sometimes my counter top. etc. but I never really knew if it actually did anything lol I do this because my mom used to. She used to always wipe things down with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol because she said it killed germs or removed bacteria
  3. But how does that correlate to removing germs? Edit- so the germs and bacteria are clinging to the oils?
  4. Why do we use soaps on our hands and bodies. I've always just used soap to wash my hands like all of us have. But what exactly does soap do to remove germs and bacteria and odors, etc. that plain water doesnt? Can somebody explain how soap works to me. Im a simple minded man haha. Should I be using soap to wash my hands after the restroom? I know soap removes oils from your body/hands but how does it help remove germs and bacteria?
  5. Once every few days my mom always wipes down cell phones , remote controls, refrigerator handles, etc. with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) I always cleaned my cell phone screen with it. Does it actually kill germs?
  6. Water, beer, soda.. I prefer them cold. Some prefer room temperature but i assume most prefer chilled. Why is this? Is it evolutionary? Especially water. I don't like roon temperature water
  7. Not the exact temperature but.. I've been wondering There has been some debate on the internet about room temperature or cold water being better for you body (im sure its all pseudo science nonsense) But it did get me thinking. The springs humans have been drinking out of for throughout history on this planet.. Are most of them pretty cold? Do we have an evolutionary preference for cold water? I have never really been to a spring to gather my own water. Are they usually pretty cold?
  8. thanks. I was debating with friends about soap removing more germs than just plain water washing does. Was trying to explain in the simplest terms possible lol
  9. So when washing your hands... the bacteria and germs would be stuck to the oils.. hence why soap works.. because it removes the oils?

  11. Ive read all about food combining and sequntial eating. (chinese, broscience, bullshit or fact based truth?) Now, I totally understand that certain food DO combine well with othes. Eating some salad before my steak always felt right to me. But is there any reasoning to eating foods in a certain order. Lets say at a single meal you have: Steak, Sweet Potato, and Asparagus (just for example) In food combining or more so "sequential/order of eating" you would want to first eat the asparagus, then the potato, then the steak. A la the "order of digestibility" according to the length of time it takes certain foods to digest. (animal protein being the "hardest to break down) So my question being. Does this make any sense? Personally when I eat I am going to take random bites out of whatever food I want at whatever time I want to vary the taste and texture. A bite of sweet potato here, a bite of asparagus there , some steak, etc... Does anybody eat in order? or eat one food item competely before moving on to the next? Is this all broscience and pseudoscience? Explain
  12. Ive seen a list of the the least polluted air In the USA and least ozone pollution. I want a place with low ozone pollution, low air particle pollution and good year round weather. If I was looking for a combination. Where would I be looking to?
  13. I guess my though process i that since we spent so much time evolving and adapting to Africa that the fruits and vegetables from there are what our bodies truly need. If we get that same nutrients from fruits and plants all over the world then this serves no purpose? Thats basically what im asking. Are African fruits and plants better for us or is meaningless and we get the same nutrients from everything around the world.
  14. Let me pose the question better because I now see how poorly written it is Are we more adapted to African fruits and plants? We spent a long part of our history evolving and, eating plants and fruits on the continent of Africa.. Could it be that our bodies obtain nutrients and digest the plants and fruits of Africa better? There are all these various African fruits and greens we don't eat because we dont have access! I mean our closest relatives the chimps and bonobos eat figs and nuts and various African vegetation in the form of leaves, nuts, berries, etc... Would we as humans be better suited to eating these foods? Or maybe the foods of the African Savannah? We then moved out Africa and starting eating diets of the local foods that were available to us in various places? Did we start finding better foods and more nutritious foods all over the world and that's why we now incorporate them into our diets? I know we can survive anywhere obviously as we have been doing it since we left Africa....but are we still more adapted to these African foods? Or is it the all about being able to obtain nutrients from any plants and fruits regardless of where they are from? I could be eating blueberries and wild dandelions right now in North America, or I could be eating an African wild Fruit with African greens...Or since white people are European is it that they would be more adapted to eaten European vegetation? Or once again does it not matter.... Is it all the same as long as we digest and obtain nutrients regardless of where they come from.?
  15. I heard that brah. Obviously Humans can "survive" any where in the world.. I'm talking the fruits and vegetables are bodies are truly adapted to. The ones we must have been eating for millions of years in Africa.
