For anyone theorising about Special Relativity (not General) then here are the Lorentz Transforms for time and position for you:<br />
<br />
x'=\gamma(x-vt)<br>
t'=\gamma \left(t- \frac{vx}{c^2} \right)<br>
where \gamma = \frac{1}{\sqrt{1-\frac{v^2}{c^2}}}<br><br>

x',t' are the position and time in one inertial frame.
x,t are the position and time in another inertial frame
v is the velocity of the object.
c is the speed of light in a vacuum.

these can be simply derived from some thought experiments with a little bit of trig, and the assumption that the speed of light in a vacuum is a constant.
